On Wednesday, Feb 8th, 2017, the Day of Iranian culture was successfully implemented at our university. In the organization of the Department of International Cooperation, Faculty of Culture and Media and Cultural Centre I.R. Iran in Belgrade, our students attended a lecture and a performance by the musical group “Nagma” Isfahan.

In the full amphitheater, at the beginning of the event, all the participants were welcomed by prof. Milivoje Pavlovic, PhD, Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Media, and Dr Mohsen Soleimani, director of Iran’s Cultural Center in Belgrade. Professor Pavlović briefly commented on the long and successful cooperation between our two countries and recalled that since April 2016, when the Iranian Center was opened at our University, this cooperation has even deepened.

Dr Soleimani presented The Week of Iranian Culture in Serbia, on whose official agenda the University of John Naisbitt took its place.

Then Mr. Masud Ehtemam, the leader of the group “Nagma” Isfahan held a short presentation on the group, consisting of prominent musicians who, for over fifteen years, have worked on the presentation and popularization of Iranian traditional music in Iran and abroad. Over the years, the band has held a series of concerts and participated in many festivals in the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Qatar, Sweden, South Africa, Morocco, where they have won many prizes and awards.

Our students and teachers were given a performance by: Mr. Masud Ehtemam, who played the instrument “santur” Mr. Mohamed Shojaee, who played the instrument “ney”, Mr. Fariborz Alageband who played the instrument “tar”, Mr. Ebrahim Rezai who played the instruments “darabuka” and “daf”, Mr. Bhnam Gaza who played the instrument “Kamanče”, Mr. Shahriyar Baluchestan who played the instrument “darabuka”.
