logoThe Iranian director and writer Narges Abjar held a lecture at the Faculty of Culture and Media, on the subject of “Contemporary Iranian Film”, all organized by the Iranian Centre of “John Naisbitt,” University. The visit was organized within the course in Theory of the Media.

The director Ajbar presented a brief history of Iranian cinematography and the influence of women on the cinematography. Responding to the students’ questions, the director said that she was familiar with the work of Emir Kusturica and that his “Gypsies” is one of her favourite films. She took the view that in Iran there is a rather balanced ratio of men and women regarding the influence on the cinema.

Thanking the students for the interest they had shown in the Iranian film, she invited them to attend a second lecture, which would be organized at “John Naisbitt” University on Friday, 28/10/2016, and which would be about social networks in Iranian society.

Accompanied by the Director of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of Iran, Dr. Mohsen Sulejmani, and the professor of Persian language at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, Dr Sead Safari, our guest visited the University premises at 8 Marshal Tolbukhin Boulevard and praised the modern teaching conditions there.
