Within the official visit to People’s Republic of China, John Naisbitt University delegation consisting of Professor Dr. Ana Jovancai Stakic, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Assistant professor Dr. Ana Jurcic, Director of Department of International Cooperation, participated at the Third Summit of the local leaders of China and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Summit, held in the town of Tangshan, was preceded by meetings in Beijing with the highest representatives of Hebei University of Economics and Business, while the crown of successful negotiations represents the reached agreement on the establishment of the institute for the improvement of international business (International Business Research Institute). The significance of the establishment of such an institute is practically unmeasurable, because it would not only represent a bridge and a link in the process of the improvement of the academic and economic development of the Serbian-Chinese relations, but would directly serve as an educational center for the training of Serbian and Chinese businessmen, as well as the ‘Think Tank’ of the whole region of Central and Eastern Europe.

Based on the internationalization strategy, implemented by John Naisbitt University following global trends, as well as the positive experience and results achieved by the Department of international cooperation and the University Chinese Center, and based on the exchanged ideas on the establishment of the Institute, two agreements on cooperation were signed at a formal ceremony in Tangshan, between ’John Naisbitt’ University and Hebei University of economics and business studies.

Furthermore, within the framework of the Summit, Professor Dr. Ana Jovancai Stakic and Assistant Professor Dr. Ana Jurcic participated in the Presidential Forum on ’Higher Education and Employment’ and shared their knowledge and experience with other participants of the Forum including the officials of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, People’s Government of the Hebei Province, China’s most respected universities’ presidents and senior officials of 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
John Naisbitt University’s idea on the formation of the 16 + 1 countries University Network was met with general approval and great interest expressed by the participants of the Forum.

The visits to People’s Republic of China ended with a visit to Shijiazhuang, the capital of the Hebei Province and headquarters of Hebei Foreign Studies University, whose students attended the classes and learnt Serbian at ’John Naisbitt’ University. This visit, another one in a successful series, has deepened the already established cooperation and strengthened mutual relationships and trust, serving at the same time as a great opportunity to introduce future visiting students from China with the programs that ’John Naisbitt’ University is ready to offer them.
