More than forty authors from prominent scientific institutions in the country and abroad presented their scientific papers at the first International Scientific Conference “Regional Development and Cross-Border Cooperation” held on 2nd December, 2017 in the hall of Pirot’s Assembly.
The conference was organized by Pirot, Pirot’s Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Faculty of Management in Zaječar and Metropolitan University.
The guests were greeted by the organizers of the conference Milan Popović, President of Pirot’s Assembly; Dragan Kostić, PhD, President of Pirot’s Regional Chamber of Commerce; Dragana Tončić, Head of Pirot’s Administrative District; academician Ninoslav Stojadinović, President of the SANU branch in Niš, prof. Dr. Jadranka Đurović Todorović, Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Niš, as well as Goran Stamenović, MA, Director of Metropolitan University. On behalf of Megatrend University the guests were greeted by prof. Katarina Zakić, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation.
On this occasion, our faculty received Appreciation Award and on behalf of the Faculty of Management, Mr. Nebojša Simeunović, Dean’s Advisor received the award from the Chamber of Commerce.
Additionally, Dragan Kostić, PhD, on behalf of Pirot’s Regional Chamber of Commerce signed a contract on cooperation with Megatrend University.
The professors of our university participated in the conference with eight papers: Dragan Đurđević, Katarina Zakić, Ranka Mitrović, Marijana Joksimović, Silvana Ilić, Milica Paunović, Dalibor Miletić, Krunislav Sovtić, Gabrijela Popović, Biljana Ilić, and Sanja Stojanović.
The authors from Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Poland, China, Greece and Libya submitted their scientific papers on the topics important for regional development and cross-border cooperation.
At the Conference, it was concluded that the basis for the development of Serbian economy is balanced regional development, as well as cross-border cooperation. The facts and experience presented at the Conference will be the basis for further programs and projects that will contribute to the development of the whole region.
